In celebration of the 200th anniversary of Frankenstein, or the New Prometheus by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, SuperMonster市City! invites artists to submit work inspired by the original 1818 text for selection by a jury of esteemed artists and designers. Jurors will select submissions to be featured in a newly designed publication of Shelly's original text. A companion art book will feature a collection of all of the submitted artworks. All submissions will be printed in one of these books.

THE PROJECT
Books will be soft cover, hard cover and a separate printing of a limited edition of leather bound books on archival paper. Works selected by the jury will accompany the original work by Mary Shelley in both softcover and hardcover editions. All submitted works will be printed in a companion art book edition. Lastly, a separate Kickstarter campaign will fund a printing of the Shelley work with juror selected art on archival paper and leather bound cover.

WHY WE'RE DOING THIS

David Barnhill and Stephen Rueff founded SuperMonster市City! because we're fans of monsters, superheroes, and villains, and we celebrate them in touring exhibitions, books and more. With this project we are joined by a prestigious pool of jurors to pay homage to Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley and the enduring legacy of her classic novel and the Creature who has provided so much, to so many, for 200 years. We are glad you are joining us.
